Lectures worth attending!

Dave Hickey, one of the (arguably) most influential of American art critics, will be lecturing February 11th (Thursday) at 7:30 pm at Keller Hall on the University of New Mexico campus. Libby Lumpkin, his equally famous wife and author of "Deep Design", will be lecturing Friday, February 12th at 6 pm in Keller Hall on the UNM Campus. Both are worth listening in on. Hickey's book, "The Invisible Dragon", written as a compilation of 4 essays,is a brusque, articulate analysis of beauty within art. Lumpkin's book which was also her PHd dissertation from UNM, became a bestseller. If you have the time, I would recommend you attend!

Rumor has it that they are considering joining the Fine Arts Department staff at UNM. If this happens, I suspect the University of New Mexico will be on many short-lists for incoming grad students.
